Lic. Plate Assembly
Lic. Plate Assembly
A badly corroded and custed license plate light contributed to my problems.
New Manufacture
New Manufacture
Unable to find a replacement lamp assembly I decided to replace it with one of the local manufactured variety. This is inside the Coach. Accces was gained by removing the middle plastic panel under the rear window.
New Lic. Plate Light Assembly
New Lic. Plate Light Assembly
The finished product. Needs a little trim of sealant yet but otherwise all done. I used a some heavy aluminum so that it would stiff enough to compress the sealant. The lamp assembly is a generic light assembly.
55 Amp Power Supply
55 Amp Power Supply
This power supply is installed under the bed in the back corner behind the Genset. I only use it for backup now or when I need more than the 20 Amp StatPower can provide.
My Spares Corner
My Spares Corner
This is the space under the bed, between water tank and genset. The empty space is taken up by a plastic container which is also used for spares storage and storage in general.
My Primary Spares
My Primary Spares
I carry bearings, shocks, starter, alternator, waterpump and various smaller spares like HEI coil, plugs, injector, distributer cap and a few other odds and ends. The spares are not always for DIY emergency repair. I found them to come in handy during regular maintenance. Having spare bearing kept an alignment job to task at hand instead of waiting on parts.
20 Amp StatPower
20 Amp StatPower
This power supply lives under the fridge. To compensate some for the extra heat generated I installed a fan behind the fridge. When temperature turns excessive I switch to the 55 Amp supply in the rear. StatPower activity is monitored via the remote panel and controlled via an easily accessible on/off switch.
Door Latch Repair
Door Latch Repair
After washing the rig, with the needed roof walk, the door would not latch even with a more than normal slam. Only thing I can figure is that the belly bowed out some which seems to be confirmed in the next picture.
Divider Slippage
Divider Slippage
The screw had dissapeared and judging by the markings my suspision of a little belly stretch seem confirmed. A few more screws had 'dissapeared'. They were replaced while I had the fridge out.
The Repaired Assembly
The Repaired Assembly
Looks the same but on closer look you will see that the bottom is now further out. The top did not have any room to move further out.
Adjustment via Dremel
Adjustment via Dremel
I used a Dremel tool to elongate the holes so that the striker assembly could move out a bit. I was surprised at how little it would take. I was also surprised when I didn't get any adjustment at the top as there was not enough room between coach exterior panel and the striker backing plate.
The Rear Bolts
The Rear Bolts
After a little digging I was able to get at the two rear (inside) nuts. The outside bolts have to be removed ONE AT A TIME or you will loose the striker backing plate into the bowels of the coach.
